Docs Shipping Split Orders into Shipments

Split Orders into Shipments

Split Order lets you divide one order into multiple shipments.

This is useful when different items from the same order need to ship separately.

The original TablePlus page says you can split one SQL editor into separate editors that work independently. For Shipdexa, the stronger shipping equivalent is splitting one order into separate shipments that can be processed independently.

Split Order

You can split one order into two or more shipments.

Each shipment can have its own:

  • package
  • carrier
  • service
  • label
  • tracking number

To split an order

  1. Open the order in the Shipment Workspace.
  2. Select the items you want to move into another shipment.
  3. Click Split Order.
  4. Shipdexa creates a new shipment for the selected items.

After splitting, each shipment can be processed separately.

Example

Order #1045 has 4 items.

Shipment 1

  • 2 items
  • Tracking Number: CP123456789CA

Items:

  • Order #1045 – Item 1
  • Order #1045 – Item 2

Shipment 2

  • 2 items
  • Tracking Number: CP987654321CA

Items:

  • Order #1045 – Item 3
  • Order #1045 – Item 4

The order number stays the same. The shipment number and tracking number are different.
